Inspiration Workshop: Flowers

 Happy Thursday Friends!
This weeks "Inspiration Workshop" prompt is...

Flowers!

For this week's prompt I thought I would share with you
pictures from our wedding and the
meaning behind them!
There was a season in my life
that I studied Song of Solomon very intensely.
I meditated on each verse one by one.
As I studied the Scriptures it became real to me
that He is my Bridegroom.
I am His Bride.
As I studied,
I loved this one in particular,
"I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys."
Song of Solomon 2:1
While studying this verse,
I learned that the rose equals beauty...
(our groomsmen wore roses)
And the lily equals purity.
(My groom wore the lily)
Therefore meaning that
the Rose of Sharon and the Lily of the Valley
are the Brides true identity in Jesus.
The Bride is beautiful and she is pure.
And who is the Bride?
YOU ARE!
As a Believer, each of You
are the Beautiful and Pure Bride of Christ.
When I'm having not so good days
(and this week has been a rough one!)
I am reminded of how He feels about me.
He calls me beautiful.
He calls me pure.
He says, "Arise my darling, my beautiful one, and come with me."
SoS 2:10
He says, "All beautiful you are, my darling;
there is no flaw in you."
May you be encouraged today that he calls you
beautiful.  And that is your true identity!

**The last picture is a picture of our wedding favors.  Each guest went home with a packet of Rose of Sharon seeds.  The tag reads:  "We can't thank you enough for coming and sharing in our joy!  Our prayer for you as you leave is that you have experienced the love of Jesus tonight.  May you know the peace that He has for you.  May you know that in this verse the rose represents beauty and the lily represents purity.  This is your true identity in Jesus, beautiful, purified, and washed clean.  May you experience all that He has for you!  Love in Jesus, Robert & Kristin"

Amen and Amen.

26 weeks...

According to Baby Center:

The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel.

26 week highlights:

  • Cravings:  Still nothing specific--haven't even had mexican food since the weekend of Thanksgiving!
  • Belly Button-The Robert report is 96% outie.  That last little part is just a holding out (or is it in?)
  • Sleep-have had a couple of great nights of sleep--don't know if I'm just really, really tired or things have shifted, but I've had a few nights where I've slept 7 hours.  Praise Jesus.
  • Symptoms-energy level is starting to decrease--don't know if it's just a busy season and I just can't do what I use to be able to do--or I'm approaching the end of my 2nd trimester, regardless, I'm exhausted by the end of the night and just having to live with the reality that I just can't do everything.
  • Movement-Love my Little Hoot and this special time we have together.  Love, love, love watching him/her move--which we can now do thanks to kicks and punches being visible!
  • Other 26 week highlights:
    • Had my very first gray hair.  Can I blame this on the pregnancy?
    • Little Hoot got to go to another wedding and be a part of a great evening of a very special couple.  I had the honor of praying for the couple after their first dance and as Robert prayed for me ahead of time he asked that Little Hoot would be directly affected by the prayers I prayed--asking the Lord for blessings over their marriage--oh, can you even imagine that Jesus already knows who Little Hoot will marry one day!!
  • Best Moment of the Week:  (other than being a part of the wedding mentioned above)...Dreaming about Little Hoot and wondering if he/she will be a well a he or a she...have hair....dark hair or light....Oh, I just can't wait!  The house is all decorated for Christmas and we can't stop talking about Little Hoot being a part of our lives for Christmas 2011. So looking forward to creating many family memories and having our own McLendon traditions!
And....so excited to read in our "Your Pregnancy Week by Week book" by Dr. Glade Curtis....  "Time is passing quickly.  You are approaching the end of the second trimester.  Two-thirds of the pregnancy is behind you; it won't be long until your baby is born."

A Saturday in the South

Today was a great day spent in Middle/South Georgia.  Somehow I managed to not get any pictures from the first half of my day---so sad....  But it started with breakfast at Cracker Barrell with my McDad and my McSister.  Then the morning with my McDad before my McMom got home and we went to the Mistletoe Market.  I had big dreams back in June about doing holiday markets, but then I came home from Scotland and was exhausted (and pregnant) so those dreams are going to have to wait till next year!

I also got some new fabric from Mimi and boxes full of buttons to go through that I am very excited about playing with for the shop.

Then onto Marshalville I went to see my hubby and watch a beautiful believing couple make a covenant before Jesus and become one.  So much fun.

I tried to capture this picture, but it didn't come out too well....this is only about half the groomsmen, but it is the group that went to high school together and have been in each other's weddings....

Onto the reception...so pretty!

And the grooms cake...can you tell what it is?  I was quite impressed!

 Isn't my hubby handsome?

Us and the beautiful couple!  Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Barfield!

Congrats Kyle and Amanda Barfield!  We are so excited for you and loved being a part of your special day!  We love when Jesus brings two people together to become one.  It's a beautiful thing to watch and we love how He is going to use you for His Kingdom!  We love you!

Sharing Life

Saturday was a special day for me.  We had weddings to attend--not just one, but two.  I've done a wedding and a funeral in one day before (on opposite sides of the state mind you) but I've never done two weddings in one day.  It was a long day, but I would do it all over again.

Robert, being the good husband that he is, decided that to do what we normally would have done pre-pregnant Kristin (leave Saturday morning and drive back Saturday night) was just too much.  So he made hotel reservations for Friday night in the town of the first wedding, so we could take it easy Saturday morning (and so glad we did...by the time we were almost half way to our destination we got report that there was sleet in Atlanta!!!)  He also made me "officially" (meaning submit paperwork and everything) take Sunday off so that we didn't have to drive back to the ATL in the wee hours of the night when wedding number two was complete.  He really is too good to me.

Friday we had a good restful evening in Vidalia--Robert drove me around and showed me the home he spent his childhood years in, showed me where his kindergarden graduation was (and where Robert as Rambo made his appearance).  We found the mexican restaurant in town (of course!), got blizzards from the local dairy queen and enjoyed some good quality time together (which was needed!).

We had a restful Saturday morning before heading to wedding number one of the day that was at noon.

Brian Winter was the groom.  Brian holds a very special place in my heart.  I've had the privilege of watching him as a young man in his early years of high school uncertain of this man Jesus to whole heartedly giving his life to Him.

With high school graduation came moving onto college and learning what it meant to be rooted in prayer and cry out on behalf of a campus.  College graduation brought the pursuit of God's will for His life and the full time calling into ministry seemed the road he was to follow. A Youth Minister is now his calling and now as of Saturday, a husband.

Brian, I couldn't be more proud of you.  Thank you for letting me share life with you and watch you grow into the incredible man that you are.  To watch two believers make a covenant with their Beloved Jesus to love one another forever and ever is an honor.  Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day.  God is going to use the two of you mightily in His Kingdom.  We are blessed because of you.  And welcome to the family Amanda!

Up next was I-16 towards good ole SAV.  It was to be a ladies night at the next wedding, so to my parent's house we went to drop off Robert for a night of football with his in-laws.  I then headed to one of my all time favorite places on this planet--downtown Savannah.  The mother of the groom is one of my best friends in all of this world.  I've written about her before  and I still can't put all my feelings about this woman into one post (and yes you have to go read that post, because I just did and am balling all over again).

Heidi, thank you for letting me be a part of your families special night.  It was an honor to be there and watch you be a beautiful mother of the groom.  I tried harder than anything to hold back the tears in your special dance, but finally had to give in.  You are a special woman.  You are one of God's most precious gifts to me and I love  more than anything sharing life with you.  My heart still breaks that I no longer get to run the streets with you on a daily basis, but your life encourages me to not give in to the ordinary.  I love you my Heidi-Ho.  Coffee date in two weeks?  And maybe we can get our hands on another box of bananas. :)

Very, Very Excited About...

THIS COUPLE!!!

Please meet the new
Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Haley
(aka Shua and Jordan)

**Don't know who the random guy is in the background!

The beautiful cake:

I know this pics a little fuzzy--but I love Shua's expression!
We love Shua and Jordan! We realized today that this is our first RiverStone wedding and not only that, our first wedding of new friends the Lord has brought to us in this new chapter in our lives! We loved being a part of their special day today, as this couple is very, very special. It was a very fun wedding and the type of wedding that we were all doing fine till the GROOM started crying! Then we all lost it. Oh, such a precious moment!!! Regarding this couple, Daniel summed it up well when we he started the celebration service with, "Hell is angry, Heaven is rejoicing in this moment. The couple before us is dangerous!" Amen and Amen!

Thank you Shua and Jordan for being such incredible people on a path to make HIS name known. Y'all are beautiful and we loved being there to celebrate with you today!

Mr. and Mrs. Luke Goddard

As promised from this post (and some of you mentioned that you've seen this video before--you probably have, because TLC actually picked it up and aired it on their network!) here are a few pictures from part two of our back to back weekend wedding extravaganza. (If you missed part one-click here).

If you had to ask me who Robert's best friend is, I would say, Luke Goddard. This is a man that Robert talks of often and I know he misses greatly. It was a huge honor for Robert to stand by his side as Luke became a husband.

Everything about this couple reflects how they love Jesus. The Rehearsal Dinner was nothing but speech after speech giving glory and honor for how they both know and love this Man Jesus. There was an 80% chance of rain on their wedding day-for their outdoor wedding-but I believe Jesus parted the skies and it was a beautiful day just for them! It was an honor just to be there.

Here are a few pics of this fantabulous weekend!

At the Rehearsal Dinner:

Cole, Robert, Luke and John.
I'm a details kinda girl and LOVED all of Drew's little touches that made this wedding absolutely marvelous: (And when your husband is in the bridal party you have time to take pictures of the little details while he's off taking official pictures!)

They had already moved the chairs on this side by the time I got to capture the picture, but I love the colors of the ribbons!
I like trees. I like taking pictures of trees. I especially like taking pictures of trees with pretty ribbons tied around them!

This is where they stood to say "I do"!!
Um. I joke a lot about finding a hole and staying there. If I ever go missing--this might just be where you can find me.
And finally--the beautiful, Mr. and Mrs. Luke Goddard:
The very beautiful Bridal Party:

Us:

Robert & His Mom:

Robert and his friend Michael Walker:

The beautiful cakes:

Robert & the Groom:

I met these people for the first time during the wedding weekend, but can I just say I love them! Travis & Charis Spann. Travis officiated the wedding and we had the privilege of sitting with them and Mr. Charlie Walker at the Rehearsal Dinner and we had a fabulous evening with them. I feel our paths will cross again with this sweet couple:

John and I-He was one of our groomsman and one of Robert's really good friends! This pics just for you John!

Robert & His boys-John and Kyle (both in our wedding too!)

And they are off-for a week long honeymoon in Hawaii!

Congratulations Luke & Drew! We are so excited for you. We love the way you love Jesus and we are so excited for how He is going to use the two of you together for His Kingdom.

Luke, thank you for being my husbands best friend. Thank you for loving him well. I know he wouldn't be the person he is today with out you.
