24 weeks...

We're 24 weeks (and a few days, but who's counting)!  I can not believe how fast this is flying by!!  Getting really, really excited about meeting Little Hoot.

Here's our Little Hoot according to Baby Center:

Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

And here are our highlights during the 24th week:
  • Cravings-nothing really significant.  Just cleaning my plate when I sit down to eat (which means Robert is actually losing weight during this pregnancy).
  • Belly Button-Robert says I have a 95% outie (you'll have to talk to him to figure out how he did his calculations :)
  • Sleep-much better thanks to the snoozer!  Even slept 7 straight hours one night this past week!
  • Symptoms-a little swollen.  Mom bought me two new pairs of shoes while we were home for Thanksgiving which were much needed!
  • Movement-lots!  Little Hoot is moving much much more, which is really exciting!
  • Other 24 week highlights:
    • Little Hoot had it's first Thanksgiving--and it was in Richmond Hill.  Little Hoot LOVES my mama's cheese appetizer.  Man, I could go for some of that about right now!
    • We had one eventful night during our 24th week---going to post about that sometime after tomorrow.
    • Loved spending time in Savannah and taking Little Hoot to our favorite places!
    • Enjoyed time with family and friends
  • Best moment of the week:  Went shopping with my mom and sis and we bought our nursery bedding!  So excited to see Little Hoot in his/her new room (but will be patient and wait!)!  So grateful for my sister and brother-in-law that gave us this beautiful gift.
We go to the doctor tomorrow for our monthly appointment and McMom is coming up for the visit!  We'll let you know how that goes!

Brrr....

On Thursday we pulled into the SAV, got out the car and thought we were going to suffocate.  It was in the 80's and we realized we forgot to pack our shorts and flip flops.  Didn't get that memo!

This morning we woke up in the SAV and it was decent....then we drove 4 hours....as we pulled into our neighborhood it started raining and when we got out of the car....it was cold rain!!!  It never got out of the 40's today, it rained, cold rain all day long and was windy.  Thanksgiving is over...and winter is here!

Hubs and I have been curled up on the couch under a blanket (well I have the blanket) watching netflix wishing our fireplace was working---or we were back sitting in front of a wood burning fire.  Our fireplace is gas and something is wrong with the switch.  It's probably a good thing--that gas fire place can be quite expensive!

So day one of trying to be back in the swing of things didn't work too well thanks to the weather.  Suitcases are still downstairs, we warmed up some of my Grandma Billie's Brunswick stew that my mom sent us home with and I just finished off a piece of pumpkin nut bread with a big glass of milk.  Guess I'm going to have to go to the grocery store soon and buy real groceries.  The stew and the turkey and the pumpkin bread my mom sent us home with isn't going to last forever...well she did send us home with a good stash of gift cards....that should last us until it warms up a little bit right?

And that's my rambling of this cold Monday.....

And it's still Cyber Monday.  Have you checked out the Cyber Monday Sale yet?  It's still going on till midnight tonight.  All items in the shop are 15% off.

Speaking of Cyber Monday---did you partake?  I did get a few things accomplished from my spot bundled up on the couch---got our Christmas cards ordered and got a present ordered.  I love handmade things and love supporting handmade shops!

And have you checked out day one of Cotton Lane's giveaways?  You should---it's all pretty stuff and lots of chances to win (what better way to help out your Christmas shopping!?)  And you should check out her shop too---it's way too cute!

My Christmas Collection is all complete--but not the pictures.  Tried to take the pictures tonight inside, thanks to the rain, but the lighting just wasn't right....so we'll have to wait till I can get outside....but for a sneak peak...here's a couple of the inside pics....

And that's all for now in this chilly ATL!

Recap, a sale and a giveaway :)

Our visit home was so good.  We haven't had a real visit since June--so we took full advantage of it...Here's just a few pics to recap it.

Saturday before the girls went shopping, we unfortunately had to drop my daddy off at the airport.  I was sad to see him go, but grateful we at least had Thanksgiving day together.

Once the girls portion of Saturday was complete, hubs met up with us and this is where you could find us:

Then it was back to the Hill to visit with a dear friend of mine Emily.  I miss her bunches, miss bringing kids into her shop, miss hanging out at the HOB.  It was good to sit still and chat with her for a while.  Thank you Emily for the coffee and the visit!

Time was spent in front of the fire.  LOVE a wood burning fire (the one thing I don't like about our home--and the stairs, but that's for a later post).  Maddie LOVES the fire--and she loves her new, new bed (the first new bed wasn't working out, but this one seems to be perfect--thanks MeMa and PaPa!)  Pj's, hot cocoa, fire in the fireplace and watching the UGA game on my dad's big screen, made for a great restful evening....even if there was a time there at the end of the game my blood pressure went up a little bit.

Breakfast was spent with my dear friend Heidi.  Breakfast that went into the lunch hour.  Love her!

Then hubs and I were off to do what we've been longing to do---take our pup pup to one of our favorite places on this earth...downtown Savannah.  She did so good and fun was had by all!

And um, yes...I had to visit here.  We took advantage of the outside seating with the pup!

One last visit was with my Heather and the rest of the Walker Family.  River is getting so grown up!  Love this family and love sharing life with them!

Now it's onto Monday....which is CYBER MONDAY!

I had so much fun doing a Black Friday Sale....why not do a Cyber Monday Sale?

The sale is up now and ALL items in the shop are 15% off!

Click here for a direct link to the sale!

And this week is Sponsor Week over at Cotton Lane--meaning there are lots of giveaways...including a Kristin's Kreation!  So go ahead and click on over and don't miss out.

That's all I have for now!  Have a restful evening and a Happy Monday!

Small Business Saturday

I stayed away from the Black Friday Sales---but took full advantage of Small Business Saturday.  How cool of a concept is that?  Mom, Sis, Aniston and I hit every baby boutique in Savannah.  So much fun!

We bought some necessary items for me and WE FINALLY FOUND OUR BEDDING!  I spent several hours online earlier on in our pregnancy before I finally just gave up.  I could not find anything gender neutral that I liked and decided I'd just wait till baby got here.

One of the stores we visited today was Just For Baby.  LOVE this store!  They gave me a full educational lesson on BumGenius cloth diapers.  I've done a lot of research on these, but it was GREAT to see them in person!  But most importantly, this is the store that we found our bedding.  I am just so excited about it.  I love it and it was at a great price thanks to Small Business Saturday.

It's blue and brown--which will be great for a boy---but when pink accents are added to it, it's just too cute! Brett & Jocelyn gifted it to us as our family Christmas present and I can't get over how blessed we are.

Thank you brother and sis for such a beautiful gift.  Thank you for investing into Little Hoot and blessing us beyond measure!

And....here's a sneak peek--it's a picture of the curtain (that came in our complete set).  I'll get more pictures soon because this doesn't represent how amazing it is!  There are sections to it that are striped, then sections that are polka dot, then sections that are patterned!

I love supporting small businesses!!!  Happy Small Business Saturday my friends!

Family Traditions.

I was so incredibly grateful to pull into my parents home yesterday to discover it was still decorated for Thanksgiving.  Not that I ever doubted my mom would have it any other way, but it was still really good to see...

Maddie was happy to see the sunroom all decked out for Thanksgiving too :)

A great evening was had with family that we don't see often enough....

From turkey, to pie, to smores...fun was had by all

We went to bed with thankful hearts and full of turkey....and woke up with Thanksgiving being put away and eating breakfast on Christmas plates.

Once the french toast and ham rolls were consumed we headed out for the Smith Family tradition.  The McLendon's in the bunch did not buy a tree (giving in again to my husband and Pike's nursery--next week) but we did love being a part of the Smiths/Eures getting theirs....and Aniston's first tree!!!

Please look at Aniston---whistling is her newest thing and oh so cute!

Dad's in there somewhere....can you find him?

We barely made it in before all the rain (well the boys still got drenched, but the girls made it to cover!)  With the trees in the truck we headed back home to have turkey sandwiches and watch this little one take a walk (not quite on her own just yet!)

Maddie LOVES Aniston!

She's getting so big!!!!

The afternoon was spent having a nap during the first half of the Auburn/Alabama game then enjoyed the second half.  Have to confess I was saying War Eagle (we'll do anything to see an SEC team in the National Championship.)

The tree is now in the home and waiting for it to dry all the way out so we can get it all pretty and decorated.  So excited about getting that done.  Before we left on Thursday I finished up my Full of Christmas Joy headbands.  I can't wait to get the tree decorated so we can take a photo shoot of these new pretties!!!

And how bout seeing this today!  Our first ever being featured on etsy:

Click here for direct link and even better--the world SOLD was next to it!!  I love being on etsy.  It's so much fun!  Thank you for shopping the Black Friday Sale!

Theres still a few hours left of the sale---all items are 15% off.  Click here for direct link to the sale!  The sale ends at midnight!

Praying each of you have had a restful day and are enjoying this weekend with loved ones!

Thankful.

Tonight I can't help but be overwhelmed by the goodness of my Jesus.  Just thinking about where the Lord has taken us from this time last year to now is overwhelming.  We've seen the Lord answer our prayers in so many miraculous ways.

I'm thankful for so many things that the Lord has done in my life---from giving me a wonderful husband,  wonderful family and friends, a wonderful job and community to be a part of.....

And as I get ready to lay my head down to sleep, tonight I just want to reflect on the miracle that the Lord has allowed me to be a part of.....

23 weeks...

Here we are at 23 weeks.  Actually we've been here for a few days now--just a little slow getting this post up this week.  My apologies!

Here's what Baby Center has to say this week:

Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With her sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that she's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound (about as much as a large mango), you may be able to see her squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing her for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze her when she hears them outside the womb.

And our 23 week highlights:
  • Cravings--really anything salty but nothing that I just have to have.
  • Belly Button-top part is out making it look like I have an outie--but hubs said it's not a real outie yet!
  • Sleep--loving the borrowed snoozer pillow.  Had a couple of nights where I actually got a good night's rest!
  • Symptoms--nose bleeds here and there.  I think thats normal?  And SWOLLEN fingers!  Had to officially get a pregnancy wedding band to hold me over for a few months!
  • Movement--Little Hoot loves to move each morning around the same time.  Such a comfort!  I am so in love with this little one!
  • Little Hoot got to travel to Perry and spend the day with his/her McGrandparents.  Little Hoot got to be a part of Amanda and Kyle's wedding celebration!
  • Best moment of the week:  Hubs looking at me and saying, "I'm really ready for our baby to be here."  Yes I melted in that moment! :)  Oh, and second best moment:  Robert decided to lay his head on my stomach and say hello to Little Hoot---and Little Hoot thumped him right in the temple.  It was quite a hilarious moment!

Hello Random Monday

I feel like today I did so many different things---I'm starting to wonder if I got anything accomplished....

but here's the recap:

We started the day taking pup pup to the "spa."  This is a birthday tradition for her, but we held off for a week so that she'd be all nice and sparkly clean for Thanksgiving.

After dropping her off, hubs and I headed to IHOP courtesy of mom's birthday box of gift cards.  After a weekend of not seeing my husband it was nice to sit still for a few moments and reconnect over a yummy breakfast.

Hubs went to work, I ran a few errands, then went to pick up pup pup.  I felt guilty taking her home and locking her up after her morning at the spa....so she came to work with me.

Such a pretty girl!

Maddie enjoyed her "go to work with mommy day".

Home we went to package up our second international etsy order!  I was so excited to send a Kristin's Kreation to Greece!

Then home again to start our Christmas Collection for the shop....got those started, then took a break to load the 4 new headbands that I made yesterday! Here's a sneak peek:

Click here for a direct link to see all the new goodies!

Then it was to cooking dinner (which is getting hard, because I'm refusing to go to the grocery store since we are about to be gone!), but at last, hubs came home from work, we ate dinner...then settled into an evening together.  We watched a movie together and well I continued to work on our Christmas Collection!  So excited about it coming together!

Hubs just left to go back to work for a little bit and I'm trying to wrap up the things that I started and still go to bed at a decent hour!

Good night!

I've got nothing....

Are you surprised it took me to day 21 to finally write a post entitled "I've got nothing"?  I'm actually surprised I made it this long!  I have two different posts whirling around in my head that will hopefully come out in the next couple of days and this will be the only post that you get like this.  :)

It's been a great weekend with family, friends and a great day with the youth.  I love hearing stories of how Jesus has radically changed lives.  He is so, so good!

Now on to Thanksgiving week....what are your plans?  Traveling anywhere fun?  This year, it's off to the SAV/RH for Thanksgiving and we are grateful to actually have more than 24 hours in town which hasn't happened since June.  Quality time--my love language I tell ya.

Before we leave for Thanksgiving I hope to get a lot more things in the shop.  I made 4 new headbands today that I'm excited about taking pictures of tomorrow and getting in the shop.  All 4 are made with button centers.  Thank you Mimi!

And that's enough rambling for tonight.  See you tomorrow.  With hopefully more than a "I've got nothing" post :)

A Saturday in the South

Today was a great day spent in Middle/South Georgia.  Somehow I managed to not get any pictures from the first half of my day---so sad....  But it started with breakfast at Cracker Barrell with my McDad and my McSister.  Then the morning with my McDad before my McMom got home and we went to the Mistletoe Market.  I had big dreams back in June about doing holiday markets, but then I came home from Scotland and was exhausted (and pregnant) so those dreams are going to have to wait till next year!

I also got some new fabric from Mimi and boxes full of buttons to go through that I am very excited about playing with for the shop.

Then onto Marshalville I went to see my hubby and watch a beautiful believing couple make a covenant before Jesus and become one.  So much fun.

I tried to capture this picture, but it didn't come out too well....this is only about half the groomsmen, but it is the group that went to high school together and have been in each other's weddings....

Onto the reception...so pretty!

And the grooms cake...can you tell what it is?  I was quite impressed!

 Isn't my hubby handsome?

Robert and his best friend Luke Goddard:

Luke and his beautiful wife Drew:

Us and the beautiful couple!  Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Barfield!

Congrats Kyle and Amanda Barfield!  We are so excited for you and loved being a part of your special day!  We love when Jesus brings two people together to become one.  It's a beautiful thing to watch and we love how He is going to use you for His Kingdom!  We love you!
