Good Times, Good Times

Robert & I have spent the past two weekends spending incredible quality time with our families and thought we'd share it with you!

We have so enjoyed the time together. To recap-the weekend of September 20th-my mom and dad came up and we celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary! The weekend was jam packed with a trip to the aquarium (and we now have annual passes thanks to the parents--so anyone wanting to come visit and go to the aquarium--come on--just come in the next year!), IKEA, Atlantic Station, Six Flags, our favorite restaurants, The Real Chow Baby, Wow Wingery, etc...it was a ton of fun! The visit was complete with worshipping together in our new home at RiverStone. Here are some pics of the weekend!

We finally had someone to take a picture of us at our new home!

Then this past weekend we travelled south to Perry to celebrate the upcoming wedding of Roberts sister, Marynan to Todd in November. We had an "Around the House Shower" and enjoyed time with the family!

Robert & I are on the road again this next weekend to celebrate wonderful friends getting married. We will be sure to take lots of pictures! Thank you for celebrating life with us!

A Call To Fast For India

To our beloved family & friends. We thought we would update you on what's going on at RiverStone this week. We know 99.9% of you don't live here and won't be able to participate in the evening prayer meetings, but please pray about how the Lord might lead you to pray for India.

We love you,
Robert & Kristin

Over the past several weeks great persecution has broken out against Christians in isolated areas of India ruled by an extreme Hindu party. As a church, we support a missionary in one of those areas. Tammy H. has been living in southern India for the past 10 years serving the needs of at-risk, marginalized children. She gives them a family offering hope and unconditional love. The vision of her home is to "raise up children who are radically committed to Jesus Christ, who, empowered by His Holy Spirit, will spread the Gospel and change the nation of India."

Will you partner with us to pray and fast for Tammy and her home? Although they have not experienced persecution, they are in an area where threats have been made against local pastors and an area where threats have been made against local pastors and seminaries. One church was attacked and burned to the ground.

Please pray with us that:

  • God would keep Tammy's home safe from persecution.
  • The Hindu party would have a powerful encounter with Jesus.
  • That the national government would step in and intervene and stop attacks.
  • That Tammy and her children would be empowered to fulfill the stated vision of the home.
Please consider fasting a meal, a day, or the week, as the Lord guides you. The prayer room will be open from 7-9pm each night this week, starting Sunday (last night)...please join us when you can. The prayer leaders for each night are as follows:
Sunday, September 28th-Tom Tanner
Monday, September 29th-Tom Tanner
Tuesday, September 30th-Mark Nysewander
Wednesday, October 1st-Cory Hallett
Thursday, October 2nd-Terry Cantrell
Friday, October 3rd-Steve Hambrick

Let the Heavens Declare

"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Psalm 19:1

This morning as we were not so happy about Robert's 8am class-the Lord gave us a beautiful present. This is a picture from our balcony of the sunrise over the mountain. When I see things like this, I can't help but proclaim words such as, "May the heavens declare Your Majesty." I can't get over how majestic He is. How beautiful my Jesus is. This morning I'm going to cling to a favorite verse of mine in Psalm 5:3, "In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation."

This morning, I wait in expectation of my Jesus as I know He wants to love on me. May today you be filled with His Holy Presence-declaring that He is Lord of your life and enjoying those special moments He has designed for just the two of you.

Pushed Around...

Kristin and I are in the process of straightening up the apartment before her parents come tomorrow. We still have a couple of boxes lying around so we're having to find places to keep them out of the way. As usual, I'm goofing around and Kristin is doing all the work.

As most of you know my wife is a little on the "petite" side. Here is a perfect example of what she has to deal with on a day to day basis as she is pushed around by things that tower over her - and this time I don't mean Me. Check it out. Isn't she cute.

Video Blog

Kristin and I were inspired to do a video blog instead of writing one. It's late after a long Sunday, so don't expect anything great. Also... Check out the RiverStone Youth Summer Camp video that Kristin posted earlier...

Thanks for the lovin,
Robert

RiverStone Video :)

Here is the RiverStone Summer Camp video that has just been released! If you get a chance, take 5 minutesish and watch it! Right when you think it's done--when it flashes the RiverStone logo and the music kinda fades--it's not over--the best part is to come--so be sure to watch the whole thing! Enjoy seeing what the Lord is doing here!

Our First Home

I know you all are anxiously awaiting pictures of our apartment...and as soon as all the boxes are gone, we promise to share some pictures...for now, here is a sneak peek:

As we are still unpacking our apartment, we often find ourselves reminiscing about our first home we shared together. We had the most amazing home for the first 7 months of our marriage thanks to the wonderful Berry family that blessed us so abundantly. We are forever grateful! The memories we shared with each other, our families, our friends and our youth in this home are ones we will cherish always! Here's a slideshow of some pictures we took right before we packed it all up (well most of them are from right before we moved--the outside pictures are when Robert first moved in-hence the explorer in the front!) Ah, memories.

A trip to Perry...and a long weekend recap...

For the first part of Labor Day weekend, Robert and I loaded up the truck with furniture that once fit in our three bedroom house that will no longer fit in our two bedroom apartment, and headed to Perry! The McLendon's are graciously housing our furniture in their garage (which means we can stop paying for a garage here) and hopefully some family members can use it while we are living the apartment lifestyle!

We so enjoyed our visit. One of my favorite things about going to Perry is we get good quality time with each other (such my love language!) We enjoyed visiting in different settings with Mimi and Dindi, Uncle Chip, Louis & Tesa and kids, Bristol and finally meeting the new addition to the family, little Chloe! (All pictures are courtesy of Marynan McLendon and her new camera!)

Chloe was born in March and we had yet to see her, so that was quite exciting! We had a great time with Marynan and Tood, Todd's brother, Lee and his son Caden-such a cutie!- and absolutely loved hanging out with McMom and McDad. We even went to Circuit City together--and ended up purchasing 3 cameras between all of us. McDad asked if I worked for Circuit City and if I was getting commission since it was my idea to go--dang, such a good idea! Robert and I have been looking for a tiny camera so that I don't always have to put our new wonderful video camera at risk--so expect more random pictures on the blog in the future. No worries--the video camera still travels with us and captures those precious family memories so you will see those on here as well!

Saturday night Robert spoke at First Love (see previous blog for details) and enjoyed seeing all that were there--especially Charlie-we love you! We headed home Sunday morning to worship with our new Body--which we are enjoying! We didn't have youth Sunday night due to Labor Day weekend-so we enjoyed some leisure time together. Well, Robert would not use the word "leisure." We decided to hike Kennesaw Mountain together and put our new camera and all it's features to work while on the hike!

We so enjoyed a great weekend with family and friends. We pray that you will make time to spend that quality time with those that you love. Thank you for being someone special in our lives!

Quick Update...

Robert and I have had a lot going on this past week or so and even now this will have to be short, but just wanted to give you some links that you could listen to/watch to see what we have been up to!

Last weekend we headed to Perry (full update and pictures will come soon :-) and Robert spoke at First Love Ministries which is a ministry he's been involved in for quite some time. If you would like to hear his talk, please go to this link (it does take some time to load...be patient!):

Perry First Love Ministries, Robert McLendon

This past week at RiverStone has been exciting as we had Summer Camp Reunion. I wrote a blog for our youth that I encourage you to read. Also within that blog is directions on how to watch summer camp reunion...if you have time, please do....worship was absolutely amazing and the speaker, Kevin Queen, delivered an incredible word from the Lord. Here is our youth blog:

Awaken This Generation

We pray that the Lord uses both of these things to renew you in His Holy Spirit today.

We love you!
