37 weeks...

We've made it!!!  Never knew two words could mean so much....FULL TERM!!!!
According to Baby Center:

Your baby is now considered "full term," even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you're planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there's a medical reason to intervene earlier.)
Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.

Here are our 37 week highlights:

  • Cravings--holding steady with Mexican and Chick-fil-a!
  • Belly Button--Robert Report--full outie.  About time right?
  • Sleep--not so great, but trying not to complain :)
  • Symptoms--can tell we're getting ready for little hoot's big day--really excited and worth all the "symptoms."
  • Movement--trying to not jump ahead and want delivery day to be here--instead, wanting to soak in this sweet time.
  • Other 37 week highlights:
    • McMom was here for a visit!
    • Had a great week of celebrating Little Hoot with my girlfriends, both Friday night and Sunday.
    • Here's a picture of Sunday (pictures are still coming from Friday!)

Also had a luncheon with my 8th grade girls on Sunday!

  • Best Moment of the week:  We had our last ultrasound of Little Hoot.  He/she wasn't cooperating as he/she kept it's hand over it's face the whole time.  Didn't give us many opportunities for a good photo, but still so sweet to see our little one!
    • When we first started the ultrasound the heart rate was 149, by the end of it the heart rate was up to 162.  He/she didn't like us poking that arm to get a photo of his/her face!
    • As of Thursday when we were 36 weeks, 5 days Little Hoot was already 6lbs, 4ozs.  We're 1cm dilated and 30% effaced.  (Not sure if everyone wants that info, but there you go!)
Here's a picture of the soon-to-be daddy and I on the day of our latest doctor's appointment:

Oh weekends....

Robert and I slept in super late this morning...then decided to make waffles....from scratch......

While making waffles, the mail came and we got this super huge box in the mail.  Don't you just love mail?  Real mail?  Thank you Brian and Amanda!

Last night was spent with my beautiful girlfriends the Lord has given me here as they showered Little Hoot and I with lots of love and great mexican food!  **Those pictures coming soon---since I didn't actually take any, but we did have a professional photographer on hand! :)

The rest of the day will be spent working on a few projects here and there and later this afternoon we're going to get out and pick up the last final things we need to pack mine and Little Hoot's hospital bag (because soon to be dad has been packed for two weeks!)

We're trying to soak in these last few weekends that are slow and lazy.  What are you up to this weekend?

Baby Pool Time!

Hi friends!  The arrival of Little Hoot is so close...so we thought we'd have a little fun with it!  Click the link below and tell us what you think.  You can guess Little Hoot's birthday, how big he/she is going to be, if Little Hoot is a girl or a boy....we'd even like to know what color hair and eyes Little Hoot might have...and even tell us your guess on a name!

Click link below to put in your guesses!  Can't wait to see what all of you think.  Thanks for playing along and being a part of this special time!!!

Showered with Love!

We are beyond blessed!  Here are the pictures from our RiverStone Youth shower.  It was girls only and it was such a beautiful morning.  So many sweet details that I loved and I loved the fact that they used our youth room to have the shower in!!!

Here's our diaper cake---which I still have in the nursery right now, not wanting to take apart.  I know I will eventually need to....since it's sitting on our changing table!

The food---lots and lots of food!

The cupcake owl cakes--one blue and one pink!  So cute!

The drinks--with an owl in the middle!

The centerpieces--each table had a variation of baby pictures of both Robert and I (and everything was done in brown and blue--the right shade of blue--to match our nursery!!!).

The gift table---can't wait to one day show these pictures to Little Hoot and explain how loved he/she is!

The special gift that I am going to save for another blog:

Aren't these owls cute?

Close up of the centerpieces:

Me in the big comfy chair they pulled out of the youth conference room. This chair gets me every week at our leader meetings---because I can't touch the ground!  But it sure is comfy!

Time was spent having everyone gather around me, lay hands on Little Hoot and I and pray for us.  I love my RiverStone family and am so grateful for them!

Time to open presents!

Little Hoot's first monogrammed items (and you know I love me some monogram!)

It was such a beautiful morning.  These are the pictures I have from my camera, and I have since received a photo album of more pictures--and more face pictures.  Might see I can get the digital version of those and share them you!!!

Little Hoot is going to be here so soon and I can't wait for him/her to feel how blessed I have felt during this season!

36 weeks...

I can't believe we are already 36 weeks!!!

Here's what BabyCenter has to say for this week:

Your baby is gaining about an ounce a day. She now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. She's shedding most of the downy hair that covered her body, as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that protected her skin during her nine-month amniotic bath. Next week, your baby will be considered full-term. Most likely she's in a head-down position, but if she isn't, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an external cephalic version, where she'll try to turn your baby by manipulating her from the outside of your belly.

Here are our highlights for the week:
  • Cravings--still nothing specific, but got both of my staples of this pregnancy during this week--mexican and chick-fil-a :)  (I actually think this is a staple in my life, not just during pregnancy!)
  • Belly Button--I felt Little Hoot move and my belly button pop out, so I immediately asked Robert for his report--he gave it a 99.99% outie.  The Kristin report says 100% (I'm hoping there is no way my belly button could get any bigger!)
  • Sleep--I'm officially waking up about every 2 hours--good to know I'm being prepared ahead of time (but still praying for a baby that sleeps well!)
  • Symptoms--nothing out of the ordinary (so every book or website I look at says!)--can tell my body is getting ready.  I try not to complain and just rejoice that our Little Hoot will be here soon!
    • The bump email this week explains how I feel perfectly (hopefully this isn't tmi):

Baby should soon descend into your pelvis, which will give your lungs a little room to breathe (literally). The bad news: This puts the brunt of baby's weight on your hips and pelvis, and will make them pretty sore. Add in your ever-loosening ligaments, and you may soon be taking on that oh-so-adorable pregnancy waddle.

  • Movement:  Sweet as ever!
  • Other 36 week highlights:
    • We've been hearing the owl outside our home a lot during this past week.  Reminds me of God's faithfulness.
    • Celebrated our last Valentines Day as a family of two!
    • We began packing our bag for the hospital (Robert is packed....Little Hoot and I still need to get ourselves a little more organized!).
    • Washed everything in the nursery to get ready for Little Hoot.  What was once put together  all came apart again and is now officially ready (did things like take the pretty bumpers off the crib that we won't use till later and wash all the sheets, etc.)!  Washed all his/her's little clothes and have them hanging in the closet!!!!
    • We attended our "Birthing Classes."  Don't know if I'm now scared or ready, but either way I was grateful for this quality time I got with my hubs of us concentrating together on our soon to be arrival of our little one!
  • Best Moment of the Week:
    • Preparing everything and getting ready for the very soon arrival of our Little Hoot!
I apologize for the lack of blog posts as of late.  All extra time has been spent having quality time with my husband and getting ready for Little Hoot's arrival (doing things like taking the pantry apart and putting it back together with room for the needs of our new addition!)

Since you've had a lack of our Whereabouts lately, here's a few more pictures.  When our birthing class adjourned on Saturday, hubs and I headed to the Marietta Square for a walk.  We stopped in at Miss Mamie's for a couple of cupcakes:

Then we spent some time at Antiques on the Square doing one of our favorite things---looking through the books!

Such a sweet weekend with my hubby!  Have a great week!

35 weeks...

According to Baby Center:

Your baby doesn't have much room to maneuver now that he's over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it's so snug in your womb, he isn't likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

35 week highlights:

  • Cravings:  Nothing specific, but can still clean my plate :)
  • Belly Button:  staying steady--almost all the way out, but not enough for the 100% outie according to the Robert Report.
  • Sleep:  On average, I wake up 2 times a night....all just to go potty!
  • Symptoms:  Just an increase in the things they say are "normal."  I feel like my fingers have become nice and fat and stubby--and tingly.  It's a circulation thing they tell me. :)  Increase of pressure--which is only going to increase more!
  • Movement:  Our Little Hoot is so sweet.  I can't wait till we are officially a family of three!
  • Other 35 week highlights:
    • Had our bimonthly appointment.  Everything is going great and measuring right on track.  Heart rate was 136--telling you Little Hoot already has his/her daddy's sense of humor with keeping us guessing!
  • Best Moment of the Week:  Little Hoot and I were showered with lots of love as our RiverStone Youth (girls only!) family blessed us with a beautiful shower.  Everything was in Little Hoot style from brown and blue to match our nursery to owl cupcake cakes (one blue and one pink!).  Loved spending time with this beautiful family the Lord has given us and we were blessed beyond belief!

(More of these pictures to come!)

Little Hoot being loved on!

Here are the pictures I promised you last week of our shower in Savannah.  It was a beautiful morning filled with lots of people I dearly love!  Thank you Julie and Heidi for such a beautiful day.  Thank you to everyone that came to love on us!

Time to head back to the ATL--with a huge chance of rain:

We started referring to this as the "burrito":

Back in the ATL and unloading the burrito:

We have been truly, truly blessed!!!  Little Hoot has no idea how much love is waiting on him/her!
