Created to Worship.

The McLendon's have given in.  After a three year hiatus--we now have cable.  I haven't made up my mind yet if I like it or not.  There are moments that I enjoy watching a little HGTV.  There are other moments that I can not handle the noise in our house.  So with cable comes boundaries.  I digress.

Over the past few weeks the littlest McLendon has learned some major dance moves.  I do not have a single musical bone/ounce of rhythm in my body--so he definitely gets this from his daddy.  Walking into church the other day, he heard the worship music and just started to go.  It was beautiful really.  I just stood in awe.  Worship music playing in our house--he's on the move.  My heart has been stirred by  our little worshipper in the making.  He was created to worship.  He was born with the innocent ability to dance to the music of our Creator.

Then I started to notice the noise that the tv was making.  The littlest McLendon would dance to a theme song or commercial he heard (dang cable).  And something deep within me started to stir (and make me sick to my stomach).  We were created to worship.  Yet in the beauty of the Lord we are given free will---so it is up to our choosing what we will worship.  In the innocence of a child I see the Lord's heart for us and His deep yearning, saying "Choose me."

So what have I chosen to worship today?  Is it Jesus?  Or the noise of the world?

May my heart be stirred and with every ounce of my being say Jesus, I choose you.

"Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!  Serve the Lord with gladness!  Come into his presence with singing!  Know that the Lord, he is God!  It is he who made us, and we are his, we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise!  Give thanks to him; bless his name!  For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations."  Psalm 100
